"Keeping Culture Strong"

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL?

Dear friend,

We are writing to introduce you to an exciting new program for Indigenous Australians in the creative industries.

The British Council and the University of Melbourne through the Wilin Centre, in association with the Australia Council for the Arts and Virgin Atlantic Airways are pleased to present ACCELERATE: Indigenous Australian Creative Leadership Program.

We're now calling for nominations from outstanding Indigenous candidates, across the creative industries, to undertake a life changing and career-accelerating opportunity in the UK and Australia.

ACCELERATE is a unique international cross-cultural program, designed to boost and further the careers of Indigenous Australians, and encourage the development of new relationships between the UK and Australian creative industries.

In 2009, three outstanding nominees will be awarded with a leadership development program in the UK and Australia.

Winners will receive a package valued at approximately $20,000, including:

- An all-expenses-paid trip to the UK including a return economy Virgin Atlantic Airways flight, accommodation and living allowance
- Individually designed five-week professional development program in the UK creative industries
- Leadership training
- A professional placement within a cultural organisation upon return to Australia.

We're seeking accomplished individuals who are established in their art-form, well-respected by their community and professional peers, and poised to take the next step in their careers.

We're accepting nominations from individuals and we're also looking for your recommendations.

Nominees must be identified as Indigenous Australian and be an artist or arts-worker in the creative industries, which includes areas such as dance, design, festivals, museums and galleries, music, theatre, writing, visual arts and others.

For more information on ACCELERATE and how to nominate visit:
